Since 1988, IMO has been developing and producing IMO slewing rings and slew drives for the most varied of application areas. This owner-led company has two production locations in Gremsdorf in the Nuremberg metropolitan region.
For more than 30 years, IMO antifriction bearing solutions have been impressing customers throughout the world with their excellent technology, high quality, and the customer proximity of the company. However, the slewing ring specialist focuses on custom bearing solutions. In close collaboration with the customer, we develop tailored slew drives and slewing rings in order to fully exploit the potential of the applications at hand.
Research & development with science
In the field of research and development, IMO works with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES) and the Institute for Machine Construction and Tribology (IMKT) of the Leibniz University of Hanover. In the HAPT research project (Highly Accelerated Pitch Bearing Test), the joint project team is working on the formulation of principles for the further development of blade bearings for the wind energy sector. IMO is also a member of the Forschungsvereinigung Antriebstechnik drive technology research association and Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V.
